  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet until combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon with a few tablespoons of sugar for coating.
  6. Shape dough into 1 1/2-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture, and place on prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and tops crack.
  8. Cool on wire racks before serving.
