Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Add garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust spicy level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with crumbled tofu or tempeh.
