Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Form into 12 meatballs.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, then transfer to an oven-safe dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- In the same skillet, whisk flour into beef broth to create gravy. Simmer until thickened. Add meatballs back to the skillet to coat with gravy.
- Meanwhile, cook potatoes in boiling salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, cream, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Serve meatballs with gravy over creamy mashed potatoes, garnished with parsley.
Notes
- Hot gravy keeps meatballs flavorful and tender.
- For extra richness, add a splash of cream to the mashed potatoes.
