Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Gently fold in blueberries.
  5. In a small bowl, blend softened cream cheese with powdered sugar to make a swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture and swirl gently. Top with remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Can substitute frozen blueberries; do not thaw before adding.
  • For a sweeter bread, sprinkle extra sugar on top before baking.
