  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cookies

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add cold cubed butter and cut in with a pastry cutter or fingertips until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in sour cream and vanilla until just combined. Turn out onto a floured surface and gently knead into a dough.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangular shape about 1/4 inch thick. Spread with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, then roll up tightly from the long side.
  6. Slice into 1/2-inch thick cookies and place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before icing.
  8. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Drizzle over warm cookies and serve.
