- 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef chunks and brown on all sides, then remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Stir in paprika and caraway seeds, cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef back to the pot along with bell pepper, tomatoes, and beef broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper, adjust spices as needed. Serve hot with crusty bread or potatoes.

- Use high-quality smoked paprika for authentic flavor.
- Vegetables can be customized, add carrots or potatoes for additional heartiness.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.
